NKRO is a coming together on a  voluntary basis of  the villages of North Kerry with a view to promoting and preserving our  culture, heritage and history. We are affiliated to Ireland Reaching Out and we cover the following parishes :

• Listowel • Ballyduff • Lisselton / Ballydonoghue • Ballybunion • Asdee • Ballylongford • Tarbert • Duagh • Lyreacrompane • Lixnaw • Moyvane/ Newtownsandes • Knockanure • Finuge • Kilflynn

However, if you are outside of these places and need our help in researching ancestors we will do our best for you.

We would love  to connect all North Kerry people worldwide with their Kerry home.

What do we do?
We are collecting  old photographs, testimonies, documents, oral histories, stories and poems and we are making them available to everyone on  website here.
We will bring you regular updates on news and happenings in North Kerry.
We hold regular Irish nights locally, where we meet people and tell them about what we are doing , while at the same time celebrating our Irish music, dance and song.

Watch out for news of our Week of Welcomes in 2012. We will invite people who have a link to North Kerry to come and enjoy a week among their own people.  We hope to lay on a feast of Irish culture with concerts, craft demonstrations, matches, turf cutting and much more.

How do I join?
We welcome anyone locally who is interested in the project to our meetings in The Seanchaí in Listowel.  Our friends abroad can join our email database info@northkerryreachingout.com and we wll update you on what we are doing.
